Pleasant Spiva, son of Jonathan Spiva, Sr. & Mary Jane Gray Spiva, was born Jan 27 1867 in Live Oak, CA. His parents had come from Big Creek, MO in April of 1859 in a wagon train. They stayed in CA until about 1879 when the family returned to Big Creek, MO. About 1889 he married Martha "Emma" Johnston. By the 1900 census Pleasant & his wife Emma were living in Pottawatomie county OK where 5 of their 6 children were born. By 1910 the family is back in Sutter County, CA, living at Yuba City. He died there on 25 Jan 1932, 2 days short of being 65 years old.
