Roy Chester Spiva was born 30 Aug 1890. In the census of 1900, he was 9 years old, living with his parents, Pleasant Spiva and Emma Johnston in ED 200, Moore: Keokuk Falls, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma Territory, USA. That sounds like the location could be an Indian reservation in Oklahoma.

On 15 Jun 1921, he married the oldest child, Vera Elizabeth Lueth, in the Albert and Bessie Lueth's large family home near Yuba City, Sutter, CA. In 1922, their first and only child, Melvin Roy Spiva was born. That marriage ended in divorce when Melvin was young.

Roy later married Thelma M. ? [Wellington] and they had a daughter Patricia M. with them in the 1940 census. Roy probably had a second son who was younger than Melvin*, but older than Patricia who was not in the household in 1940 when they were living at Hornbrook, Mountain Judicial Township, Siskiyou, CA.

In 1942, Roy registered for the military draft for WWII while he lived at two different places in 1942. One was Georgetown, El Dorado, CA and the other was Campbell, CA. The last record found was his death in December, 1976 at age 86+ in Vancouver, Clark, Washington, USA. He and Thelma are buried in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Washington. Their plot: Garden of Grace, Lot 126, sp 3 & 4.
