NAMPA — David Rulon Nelson, 84, of 1108 Thirteenth Avenue South, a retired carman for the Pacific Fruit Express Co., died Wednesday in a Nampa nursing home after an extended illness.
Mr. Nelson was born Oct. 25, 1887, in Bear Lake County, and was reared and educated there. He married Violet Wilson in 1911, in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived in Driggs for several years, and came to Nampa in 1926. He worked for the PFE for 15 years, and retired in 1959.
He was a member of the LDS Second Ward.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Nelson are two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Marcelle) Johnson of Portland and Mrs. Ray (Rhea) Rackley of McLean, Va.; two brothers, Leon Nelson of Idaho Falls and Kenneth G. Nelson of Nampa; a sister, Mrs. Mary Inmann of Sparks, Nev.; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at the Alsip Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday by Bishop Jack Green of the LDS Second Ward. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
