He was born May 17, 1916, in Bothwell, a son of Rasmus (Daddy) and Mary Elvina Johnson Anderson.
He married Esther Jackson Aug. 7, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was reared and educated in the Bear River Valley, graduating from Bear River High and LDS Seminary.
He had served as a counselor in the Elder's Quorum presidency,scoutmaster, counselor in the bishopric, Sunday School Superintendent and other Church positions. He was serving as High Priest group leader at the time of his death. He and his wife had just received their mission call to Fresno, Calif.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He owned and operated a small farm in Bothwell and was a custodian at Bothwell LDS Church and Bear River Junior High School.
Survivors include his wife of Bothwell, two sons and one daughter Garth Clyde Anderson, Sandy, Utah; Don L. Anderson, Bothwell and Mrs. Stanley (Sharon) Simmons, Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and five sisters, Milton J. Anderson, Thatcher; Cleon Anderson, Golden Anderson, Mrs. Mable Stokes, Mrs. Henry (Estetla) Newman and Mrs. Wanda Newman, all of Bothwell; Mrs. Vera Smith, Preston, Idaho and Mrs. Dean (Ruby) Orwin, Tremonton.
Eight brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, 1984, in the Bothwell LDS Ward with Bishop LeRoy Firth officiating. Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary in Tremonton Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment in the Bothwell Valley View Cemetery.
