Miss Margaret Kinney Found Dead Near Home In Baring Sunday Morning
Miss Margaret Kinney, who was born and raised on a farm about a mile south of Baring, was found dead early Sunday morning, Feb. 11, 1962, about a block from her home in Baring between the Jack Kilbride home and the Kiley & Eyler Service Station. She was 83 years old and had been in ill health for more than two years.
Funeral services were at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Aloysius Church in Baring conducted by the Rev. Stephen Carew. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 o'clock Monday evening at the Kriegshauser Funeral Home here.
Surviving are two brothers, Joe Kinney of Baring, with whom she made her home, and William Kinney of Monroe City, also several nieces and nephews.
She was born April 12, 1878, a daughter of Michael and Mary Morley Kinney. She was never married and spent her entire life on the farm near the Santa Fe overhead bridge until her health and that of her brother failed and they moved to Baring a year ago last October.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Molly, Mrs. Harry O'Brien, Kathy and Agnes, and a brother, Tom.
