Mrs. Anna J. Nobis, 80, died in her home, 1338 North Ninth street, Monday evening at 6 o'clock. She had been in failing health for four years and bedfast four weeks.
Mrs. Nobis was born in Memphis, Mo., April 8, 1865, a daughter of Michael and Nancy Stinson Kinney. She attended school in Baring, Mo. Her home had been in Quincy 60 years and her marriage to Charles E. P. Nobis took place here on January 3, 1893, in St. Peter Catholic church.
Surviving are the husband; a son, Leaton P. Nobis, and two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Nolin and Mrs. Ethel Timmerwilke, all of Quincy. She also leaves two brothers, J. J. Kinney of Edina, Mo., and Will Kinney of Shelbina, Mo.; a sister, Miss Margaret Kinney of Edina, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A grandson, Cpl. Edward Timmerwilke, who has been in service in the Mediterranean and European areas for many months, arrived home Sunday night. His brother, Staff Sgt. Don Timmerwilke, who served in England with the engineers, will arrive Tuesday night from Chanute field.
