New Holstein Reporter, Thurs. Feb. 26, 1981, p. 8, c. 1. Funeral Mass for Christ M. Fuhrmann, 88, of St. Joe, who died unexpectedly Mon. Feb. 23 at Desert Samaritan Hospital, Mesa, AZ, while visiting his grandson, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thurs. Feb. 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joe. The Rev. Joel Tuller, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, from 3 p.m. Wednesday and until 10 a.m. Thursday when family rites will be held at the funeral home. A parish vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 11, 1892, in the Town of Marshfield, Fond du Lac County, the son of the late Henry and Margaret Stephanie Fuhrmann. He married Pauline Petrie at St. Joe on Feb. 9, 1915. His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 1976. Mr. Fuhrmann was a lifelong resident of the Wolf Lake area and was actively engaged in the insurance business until his death, serving as an agent for Mt. Calvary Mutual Insurance Co. since 1921 and General Casualty Co. of Madison since 1930. He was president of the local cooperative cheese factory for 35 years, a member of the local school board for more than 20 years, a member of the board of directors of the former Farmers State Bank of Calvary, a member of the Calvary Area Senior Citizens Center, and St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Survivors are a son, Elmer of St. Joe; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Valita) Feldner of St. Cloud, Mrs. Ray (Estelle) Wagner of Mt. Calvary and Mrs. Victor (Jeannette) Ruh of Oswego Lake, OR; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Sabel of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Marvin Mueller of R. 2, New Holstein; and a brother, Ben Fuhrmann of Fond du Lac. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
