SPRINGFIELD SUN OBITUARY - 1959
Funeral services were held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in this city at 9 o'clock Thursday morning for Mr. Kent Blandford. The pastor, Rev. J.T. Blandford, officiating. Burial was in St. Rose Cemetery. Six nephews served as casket bearers. Mr. Blandford died at 6:10 Monday evening, July 27, at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Lebanon where he was admitted a few hours earlier but failed to respond. He was 83 years old and a retired farmer. The body was prepared at and remained at the Hale & Polin Funeral Home here until time for burial. Surviving Mr. Blandford are two daughters, Sister Ann, at St. Catharine's Convent and Mrs. Julian Kidwell, Springfield; four sons, Thomas Blandford, Chattanooga; George and Edward Blandford, Louisville; and R.K. Blandford, Jr., Escondido, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Edd Osbourne, Springfield, and one brother, Leon Blandford, Lebanon. His wife, Mrs. Lula Noonan Blandford, preceded him in death in October, 1950.
