JOSEPH EDWARD BLANDFORD, 83, died Wednesday at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Springfield, a retired pipe fitter for Barber-Coleman Co., a member of Pipe Fitters Local 522 and a former member of Knights of Columbus. Survivors: his wife the former Kathleen Cecil; a son, Joseph E. Blandford Jr.; daughters Jane Debusschere, Betty McDonald and Lucy Woodson; a sister, Margaret Kidwell; and seven grandchildren. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1920 Newburg Road. Burial: Calvary. Visitation: Highlands, 3331 Taylorsville Road, 2-9 p.m. Friday. Memorial gifts: Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders Association.
