Funeral services for James N. Garnett, 48 year-old Decatur resident who died suddenly of a heart attack at the courthouse Monday morning, will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Baptist Church.
Rev. A.B. VanArsdale and Rev. Goebel Phillips will conduct the services with interment in city cemetery, Brown directing.
The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 p.m. until time for the services.
Associates of the Liberty National Life Insurance Co. will act as active and honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Frances L. Garnett; one daughter, Sydney Louise Garnett, both of Decatur; one son, Fred A. Garnett, with the U.S. Army in Germany; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Barrett, and Miss Frances Garnett, both of Decatur; four brothers, Billy and Roy Garnett, both of Decatur; Howard Garnett, Charlotte, N.C. and Grant Garnett, Saluda, N.C.; four nieces and four nephews.
