Obituary: P.L. Westhoff, Walnut Dies; Funeral

Walnut, June 10, - Philip L. Westhoff, 76, died at 5 o'clock Sunday morning at his home, four miles south and one and one-half miles west of here, following an illness of eighteen months. He had been bedfast for the last week.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Father Gunning officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. The body is at the Carson chapel.

Mr. Westhoff was born on April 27, 1870, at St. Paul. He was married in 1902 to Miss Rose Schulz, who survives. A membership was held in the Holy Name Society in Walnut and in the Catholic Church.

Survivors in addition to the widow include seven children, Ernest Westhoff of the home, Mrs. Gertrude McFarland of Weldona, Colo., Mrs. Kenneth McFarland of Fort Morgan, Colo., Mrs. Leland Bradshaw of Walnut, Miss Margaret Westhoff of Fort Morgan, Mrs. Francis Strasser of St. Paul, and David Westhoff of the home; three brothers, Will and Francis Westhoff of Parsons, and Joseph Westhoff of Walnut; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Hammerbacher of Girard, and seventeen grandchildren.
