ST. PAUL —
Dorothy Marie Strasser, 93, of St. Paul, died at 8:10 P.M., Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul.

She was born November 15, 1917 at rural Walnut, a daughter of Phillip Lewis and Rose Ann (Schulz) Westhoff. She grew up and attended school at Walnut. She was a homemaker and worked for 16 years as a school cook in the St. Paul school district. She retired in 1979.

On May 1, 1945 she was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Strasser at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Walnut. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2002.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic at St. Paul. She was also a member of the St. Francis Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include two sons, James Patrick Strasser of St. Paul and Fredrick Lewis Strasser of Park City, Utah; a stepson, Francis Joseph Strasser of Parsons; three daughters, Eugenia "Jeannie" Marie Sanchez of Greeley, Colo., Delores "Dee" Ann Baker of Topeka, and Virginia "Ginny" Mary O'Connell of Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, David Westhoff of rural Walnut, Kan.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Edward Strasser, who died on September 11, 1992; one brother, Ernest Strasser; three sisters, Regina Bradshaw, Cecilia McFarland and Margaret Bruchez.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 22, 2010 at the St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul with Fr. Thomas Leland officiating. Burial will in the St. Francis Cemetery. The Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be recited at 3:30 P.M., Sunday at the Prairie Mission Chapel and the Parish Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Catholic Church or to Hospice Compassus. These can be left at or mailed to the funeral home, P.O.
