Ervin Allen was born July 26, 1904 at Davey, Nebr. to Edward and Clara Allen and departed this life at the hospital in St. Paul, Nebraska on March 16, 1962 at the age of 57 years, 7 months and 18 days, following a lingering illness.

At an early age, he moved with his family to Wolbach, Nebraska, where he spent the remaining years of his life. He received his education in the rural schools of Greeley County.

He and Selma Koch were married May 14, 1926 at York, Nebraska. The couple have nine children, all of whom were present for the services. Ervin was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He served for a number of years on the church council. He had been employed for several years at the Farmers Co-op Oil Station and recently was custodian of the Wolbach Public Schools.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Selma; four sons, Howard of Wolbach, Edward C. of Grand Island, Donald of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jim of Dighton, Kansas; five daughters, Mrs. Minnie Nagorski of Loup City, Mrs. Frances Berney of Norfolk, Virginia, Mrs. Ellamae Townsend and Mrs. Marjorie Townsend both of St. Paul, and Paula Allen at home; his father, Edward Allen of Lincoln; 21 grandchildren, three brothers, Bill of St. Paul, Albert of Silver Creek, and Jack of Grand Island; and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hoss of Omaha, Mrs. Lois Scheibe and Mrs. Loraine Gillham both of Grand Island.

Preceding him in death were his mother, step mother, two sisters and one brother.
