Mr. Allen was born April 7, 1980, at Waverly, the son of Edward and Ella Beckman Allen. When he was an infant the family moved to a farm near Wolbach in Greeley County. He received his education at District 27 School in Greeley County. He married Myrtle Pickrell on Nov. 25, 1931, at Fullerton. She died in July 1934. Mr. Allen moved to Colorado and ranched and farmed there. He married Reba Anspauch on July 27, 1938, in Colorado. In 1943 they moved to Nebraska, and he began work as a caprenter at Wolbach. In 1951 they moved to Silver Creek where he operated the John Deere dealership. In 1963 they moved to Grand Island where he worked for Johnson Cashway Lumber Co. Mrs. Allen died Feb 14, 1968. He married Bessie Benson on June 25, 1969, at Grand Island. In 1970 he went into semi-retirement, and in 1976 they moved to Republican City. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Republican City and Masonic Lodge No. 82, A.F. & A.M., of St. Paul.
Survivors include hie widow; eight stepchildren; a brother, Jack of Grand Island; three sisters, Mrs. Franklin (Dorothy) Hoss of Omaha, Mrs. Arnold (Lois) Scheibe and Mrs. Wayne (Lorraine) Gillham, both of Grand Island, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Ervin and Charles, and a sister, Grace.
