Trucker Dies
John D. Johnson, 72, of 12 S. Virginia Ave., a truck driver, died Friday evening (June 12, 1953) in the Vermilion County Nursing Home.
Born May 14, 1881 in Newell Township, he was the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Carney Johnson.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Orvis of Danville; three brothers, Howard and Bree Johnson, both of Danville and Hugh of Hoopeston; a sister, Mrs. Edith Husselbee of Stanton, Calif., and two grandsons.
The body is at the Johnson Funeral Home where it will remain for services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. George Boetteher will officiate and burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
