He was born April 16, 1891, in Hoopeston, Illinois, the son of Isaac and Elizabeth Johnson.
Employed by the Danville Gardens, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mae, and a daughter. He married Alberta Crouch, who survives him, in 1937.
Also surviving are three sons, Robert, Jack, and Frank, three daughters, Mrs. Irene Baldwin, Mrs. Imogene Brown and Mrs. Betty Dewlin, and 11 grandchildren.
