Betty Gladd, 85, formally of Hilliards, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1924 in Hilliards. She was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Walley Cook.
She had been employed by Allegheny Plascics as a machinist and was a plastics welder at P-Wall Manufacturing in Grove City. During World War II she been employed at Armco.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Butler and was a former member of Hilliards Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, James P. Nestoff of Denver and several neices and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gladd, who passed away Aug. 31, 1997; five sisters; and six brothers.
Friends of Betty Gladd who died Friday, Feb. 7, 2010 will be received from 2to4 and 6:30to8:30 Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. James Lewis, pastor of the Hilliards Methodist officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery.
