Willavene M. Benninger, 86, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Clarion, died there at 3:10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006.

Born July 13, 1919, in Tital, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo and Edith Rush Wolfe.

Mrs. Benninger worked many years as a meat handler at Loblaw's grocery store. She was a faithful and active member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Strattanville. Mrs. Benninger was an avid magazine reader and enjoyed gardening, as her health permitted.

She was married to Gerald E. "Jack" Benninger, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sons, Gerald E. "Jack" Benninger Jr., and wife, Carol, of Kansas City, Kan., Richard A. Benninger of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Robert G. Benninger and wife, Carolyn, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and 10 grandchildren nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Vincent Wolfe and Lester Wolfe, both of Rimersburg, and Kenneth Wolfe and wife, Joy, of Templeton; her sisters, Geraldine Ingraham of Decatur, Ga., and Loretta Zamperini of Seminole; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Benninger was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; her brothers, Arthur, Donald, Harold, Delbert and Elmer Wolfe; and her sisters, Regena Croyle, Marie Benn and Irene Montgomery.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Borland Funeral Home Inc., Route 66, Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen J. Fuller, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, Strattanville, officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville.
