STATEN JAMES STUMBAUGH

Staten James Stumbaugh, youngest son of James and Barbara Stumbaugh, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, February 26, 1864, and departed this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Poundstone, near Absarokee, Montana, on August 2, 1941, at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 6 days.

He was united in marriage to Ida V. Mundell on Sept. 11, 1889, who preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1936. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Lloyd (Clara) Poundstone, of Absarokee, Montana; Mrs. Jesse (Lillie) Speakman and Mrs. Chester (Leora) Speakman, both of Manhattan, Montana. One daughter and one son died in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his death, besides the three daughters, one grandson, Gaylord Wayne Speakman, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body was brought to Chariton and funeral services were held at the Goshen church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, and burial was in the Goshen cemetery.
