OBITUARY:
Services for Owen Reynolds "Pete" Conley, 82, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Catoosa First Baptist Church. He died last Friday at his home in Catoosa. A life-long Catoosan, he was born June 8, 1903. He was disabled as a child and was widely known for his love for children. Conley was also a published writer, his major interests being in the pioneer days and western ("Wild West") fields. Survivors include one brother, Jim Conley, Long Beach, California; one sister, Bernice Conley, Catoosa; a special friend, Jess Tharp, also of Catoosa, and several nieces and nephews. Interment was in Dick Duck Cemetery under direction of Kennard Funeral Service. (Catoosa Times-Herald, Wednesday, January 15, 1986)
