Jane Elizabeth Stinson, eldest daughter of Daniel Greene Stinson and the former Esther Gaston, was married to Matthew Elder on December 14th 1842. They had the following known children:
William Norman (1843-1910)
Daughter (1845-1845)
Mary Jane (1846-1940)
Daniel Gaston (1848-1863)
Esther Mildred (1851-1852)
Walter Eugene (1853-1855)
Son (1855-1855)
Rev. John Marshall Wright (1856-1931)

Death Notice:
"Died in Yorkville, S. C. on the 5th of November 1857, Mrs. Jane Elder, wife of Prof. M. Elder in the 38th year of her age. … she leaves a husband and four children."
