Esther Gaston, a daughter of Joseph and Jane [née Brown] Gaston, was named for her paternal grandmother, Esther Waugh Gaston, a well-known heroine of the American Revolution. Her father, too, was a veteran of that war.
On January 29th 1819, Esther married Daniel Greene Stinson; with whom she had the following known children:
