Harold "Bud" Blevins attended elementary school in Blue and later South Mount Homa. As a young man, the Blevins' family moved to California to work in the fruit orchards, returning numerous times throughout the years. He married Clara Lorene Gibson on Nov. 8, 1949, in McAlester. Shortly after marriage, he began working at the McAlester Ice plant as a truck driver, later driving for Joe Ogiela at the McAlester Army Ammunitions Plant. He decided to start making long haul trips for Charles Komar and Sons to New York. After the long trips, the family moved to Sallisaw where he worked in the warehouse for the Robert S. Kerr Navigation System. The family returned to McAlester and he began working as a truck driver hauling materials for the construction of the Eufaula Dam. He retired in 1990, after working more than 15 years for United Parcel System. He was a very active member of the Blue Holiness Church, where he taught Sunday school and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family. He also took care of the maintenance of the church.
