Raymond "Ray" Lee Blevins, age 74, of Nowata, Oklahoma, died at 4:00 a.m., Saturday, January 05, 2013, at Jane Phillips Nowata Health Center, in Nowata, Oklahoma.

He was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1938, to Frank and Grace (Johnson) Blevins.

He attended Blue School, west of McAlister.

On August 18, 1980, he married Maggie Nichols, in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was a member of the IBEW, and worked all over the United States, as a lineman, for over thirty years, retiring in 1994.

He loved hunting, fishing, visiting with his buddies at Bliss's Restaurant, helping people, and telling jokes. He attended Trinity Full Gospel Church, in Nowata, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie, of the home; one daughter, Linda Stamper, of Nowata; step-son, Ben Lewis and wife, Tammie Lewis, of Nowata; five grandchildren, Jake White and wife Amanda, of Owasso, Oklahoma; Morgan Stamper, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Dallas, Tyler, and Jordan Lewis; one great-grandchild, Jakob White; one sister, Earlene Snow, of McAlester; one brother-in-law, Joe Carrion, of McAlester; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Blevins, of McAlester, Oklahoma, his brothers, Lloyd, Bud, and Leo Blevins, all of McAlester, Oklahoma; his sister, Dorma Jean Carrion, of McAlester, Oklahoma.

The family suggests donations to the 1033 Wheelchair Van, 321 E. Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma, 74048.
