OBITUARY
Bessie Bates, 77, of Swink, Okla., died May 3 in Parkview Nursing Home.
Mrs. Bates was born January 11, 1898 in Fort Towson. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Argie Bates, Swink; three step-sons, Gene Bates, Eagletown; Jack Pierce and S. E. Bates, both of Broken Bow; two stepsisters, Mrs. Ima Perry, Blanco, New Mex.; Mrs. Norma Miller, Clear Calif., Calif.; one brother, Gene Wilson, Hugo; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Montgomery, Muskogee, and Mrs. Vivian Wilson, of Hugo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 at the Methodist Church in Fort Towson. Rev. O. D. Barnes will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Towson Cemetery with Coffey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
