OBITUARY
Mrs. Hattie Wilson Montgomery of 2607 Garland Ave. died at her home early Wednesday morning [June 25, 1980] after an extended illness. Services will be Friday [June 27, 1980] at 11 a.m. in Petering Funeral Home's Ivory Chapel.
A native of Paris, Texas, Mrs. Montgomery grew up in Fort Towson and attended Oklahoma Presbyterian College at Durant and later was graduated from Draughon's Business College in Muskogee. On July 3, 1935 she was married to John T. Montgomery who died in 1950. She served in Bureau of Indian Affairs for more than a quarter of a century. She had lived in Muskogee since the early 1950s and retired from BIA in 1962 as field clerk for Pushmataha and Choctaw counties. A charter member of Fort Towson First United Methodist Church, Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Muskogee First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Stillwell Chapter of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Charles E. [Wilson] of the home; and a brother W. E. Wilson of Valliant [brother was William Eugene Wilson].

Mrs. Montgomery also had another son, John Davis Dale, from a prior marriage, who sadly died at 11 years of age in 1935 in Hugo and is also buried at Fort Towson.
