Died Tuesday

BRECKEIRIDGE - John Ter-
fehr, resident of Breckenridge
and formerly of Urbank, died at
St. Francis Hospital in Brecken-
ridge on Tuesday, March 8. He
was 81.
Mr. Terfehr was born on July
11,1884, to Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Terfehr in Shakopee and came
with his parents to Urbank
when he was a child. He grew
up and attended schools in the
Urbank area and moved to Kent
in 1904. On Nov. 17, 1908, he married
Rose Nordick and they lived at
Ogema for a year before return-
ing to Kent where they farmed
until 1951. Mr. Terfehr then re-
tired and moved lo Brecken-
ridge. The Terfehrs celebrated
their Golden Wedding anniver-
sary in 1958.
Survivors include his wife,
Rose; three sons, Brother Julius
O. S.B. of St. Marus Priority,
South Union, Kentucky, Law-
rence of Wolverton and Sylves-
ter of Kent; six daughters, Mrs.
Leo (Mary) Vollmeeke of Fort
Atkinson, Iowa, Mrs. Nick (Flor-
entina) Herding of Hankinson,
N. D., Sister M. Rita 0. S. F.
(Agnes) of St. Francis Convent,
Hankinson, N. D., Sister M.
Helen (Rita) of Memorial Hos-
pital in Cando, N. D.. Mrs. Al-
fred (Ada) Allhoff of Wahpeton,
N. D., and Sister M. Veronica
O. S. F. (Theresa) of St. Fran-
cis Convent in Hankinson, N. D.,
5 grandchildren; two brothers,
Joseph of Breckenridge and
Frank of Parkers Prairie; four
sisters, Mrs. Theodore Thoennes
of Ogema, Mrs. Nick Thoennes
of Parkers Prairie, Mrs. Frank
Schmidt of Alexandria and Mrs.
Ferd. Reger of Parkers Prairie.
His parents, a daughter, three |
brothers and a sister preceded
him in death.
Funeral services will be held
Friday, March 11, at 10 a. m.
from St. Mary's Catholic Church
in Breckenridge. Officiating will
be three Catholic clergymen un-
der Rev. George Mehok, parish
priest. Interment will be in the
church cemetery,
Visitation will be all day-
Thursday with Bible Vigil at 7
p. m. on Thursday and Rosary
at 8:45 p. m., at the Joseph Ver-
lin and Sons Funeral Home in
Breckenridge.
