George Rothrock was the third of thirteen known children of Johannes (went by John) Rothrock (1744-1805) and Salome Charity Worley (1759-1828), who married 05 Nov 1776. John was previously married to Dorothea Gump (1749-1775) on 01 May 1767 at York County, Pennsylvania and had four children with her.

George first married to Isabella Test (1789-1830) on 21 May 1807 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. George and Isabella were the parent of ten known children, namely:

1. John Rothrock (1808-1851)
2. William Rothrock (1810-1894)
3. George Test Rothrock (1811-1877)
4. Henry Rothrock (1813-1884)
5. Alexander Rothrock (1815-1881)
6. Margaret Rothrock Weaver (1819-1853)
7. Charity Rothrock (???-young)
8. Jacob Rothrock (1823-???)
9. Mary Rothrock Weaver (1824-1890)
10. Wilson Lee Rothrock (1828-1903)

After Isabella died, George remarried to Prudence Herter Purdue Thomas (???-???) in c1832 and had one known additional child, namely:

11. Huling Herbert Rothrock (1833-1903)
