Philip Jacob (went by Jacob) Rothrock was the eighth of thirteen known children of Johannes (went by John) Rothrock (1744-1805) and Salome Charity Rothrock Worley (1759-1828), who married 05 Nov 1776 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. John had previously been married to Dorothea Gump Rothrock (1749-1775) on 01 May 1767 (or 06 May?) at York, York County, Pennsylvania and had four children with her.

Jacob married Sarah Yost (1795-1874 (some records show 1885)) in c1813 in presumably Pennsylvania. Jacob was a saddle and harness maker and practised the trade his entire adult life in Williamsport.

Is Jacob really buried at the Williamsport (Washington Boulevard) Cemetery? Cemetery records show the plot owner to be a Jacob Rothrock (b. 1836 (sic)).

Jacob and Sarah were the parents of thirteen known children, namely:

1. Elizabeth Rothrock Hyman (1814-1897)
2. Susan Rothrock (1815-1879)
3. Emeline Rothrock Williams (1817-1887)
4. John Henry Rothrock (1819-1898)
5. Abraham Rothrock (1821-1861)
6. Joseph Yost Rothrock (1823-1894)
7. James Douglas Rothrock (1825-1897)
8. George Rothrock (1827-1912)
9. Sarah Louise Rothrock Walters (1831-1902)
10. Jacob Rothrock (1832-1902)
11. Thomas Rothrock (1834-p1860)
12. Edward W. Rothrock (1834-1836)
13. Mary Rothrock (1841-1886)

Links to Jacob's parents, his wife, seven of his thirteen known children and nine of his twelve known siblings are included below.
