Obituary: Morris newspaper, 1975; Patrick Rowles Dies Nov. 14.
"Patrick Bernard (Barny) Rowles, 87, two year resident of the Villa of St. Francis, died Nov. 14 at the Villa after being in failing health for the past 10 years.
"Mr. Rowles had been a lineman for Otter Tail Power and had worked for Rowles Well Drilling. He had also been a member of the Morris police.
"A member of the Assumption Church, Mr. Rowles was a World War I veteran and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 30s and the early 1940s.
"He was born April 25, 1888 in Horton township of Stevens County and lived in Morris, South Dakota and Hancock, during his lifetime. He was a resident of the Braaten Rest Home before moving to the Villa.
"Survivors include a sister, Mary Rowles of San Francisco, a brother Clarence Rowles, of Milwaukee, Wisco. and several nieces and nephews.
"Preceding him in death were three brothers and one sister.
"Funeral services were held Nov. 15 at Assumption Church, Rev. Lawrence Botz officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary, Larry and Donald Greiner and Art Braaten.
"A parish prayer service was held Nov. 14 at the Olson Funeral Home."
