Nancy Stevenson was the eleventh of twelve known children of William Stevenson ("Little Gabriel") (1725-1809) and Mary McLelland Stevenson (1730-1811), who married c1755 in presumably Pennsylvania and moved soon after to Iredell County, North Carolina.

Nancy married John Watts (a blacksmith by trade) (1765-1821) in c1792 in presumably Iredell County, North Carolina. Nancy and John were the parents of ten known children, namely:

1. Jane Watt Morrison (1794-1863)
2. William Watt (1796-1863)
3. Mary Watt (1796-???)
4. Adlai Watt (1800-???) (said to have moved "west")
5. Thomas Reece Watt (1804-1886)
6. Elizabeth Watt Harrison (1806-???)
7. John Stevenson Watt (1808-1885)
8. Amanda Agnes Watt White Kerr (1810-1893)
9. Sarah Araminta Watt Hall (1812-1853)
10. James Alexander Watt (1816-1884)

Most of the descendants of this family remained in Iredell and Alexander Counties, North Carolina. Some of the descendants went to Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee and then to Texas.

All of the children seem to have used the surname Watt, while the parents appear to buried as Watts. Does anyone know the story on this?

Links to Nancy's parents, husband, seven of her ten known children and ten of her eleven known siblings are included below.
