I am working on a huge Stevenson family tree. My Stevenson tree starts with William "Little Gabriel" (nicknamed because of his booming preaching voice) Stevenson who was born in present day Northern Ireland, and came to Pennsylvania (following his mother and step-father) and while in Pennsylvania married to Mary McLelland Stevenson (1730-1811) in c1755. Sometime around 1760 the family moved to Iredell County, North Caroline where William was a land owner and helped establish the town of Statesville. I descend from the son Robert Montgomery Young Stevenson (1772-1835) who moved to Missouri.
William and Mary were the parents of twelve known children, namely:
1. Thomas Stevenson (1756-1781)
2. John Stevenson (1758-1836)
3. William Stevenson (1760-1840)
4. Mary Stevenson (1757-1765)
5. James Stevenson (1768-1850)
6. Joseph Stevenson (1769-p1817)
7. Mary Stevenson (1770-c1771)
8. Robert Montgomery Young Stevenson (1772-1835)
9. Moses Stevenson (1774-1821)
10. Jane Stevenson Sloan (1762-1856)
11. Nancy Stevenson Watt (1778-1837)
12. Elizabeth Stevenson McKenzie (1779-1840)
The above names are not necessarily in order of birth, but follow the book "A History and Genealogical Record of the Stevenson Family From 1748 to 1926" by Rev. Samuel Harris Stevenson, Rev. J.A. Harris and Hon. W.F. Stevenson, 1926. I have a photocopy of this book. This is considered the 2nd Edition of the Stevenson history books, with a 3rd edition published in 1979.
Links to William's father, wife, nine of his twelve known children and three of his known siblings are included below. You will see that various people have attached other supposed children to William, but I have no evidence that they are really children of his.
