AUNT OF CITY SECRETARY TREASURER DIES MONDAY.

Mrs. [Lessie] Bonham Whitworth, 73, of 1120 Busby street, an aunt of J. Thomas Tanner, city secretary-treasurer, died at a local sanitarium at 9:45 p.m. Monday after a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wellman funeral chapel, conducted by Rev. C. L. Power, pastor of Dunlap Memorial Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charles Stoer, Marion Glass, Jim McKethen, J. T. Wudtsbaugh, Bennett Johnston and Joe H. Jackson.

Mrs. Whitworth was born in Jefferson, Texas, and came to Shreveport in 1890. She was the daughter of Capt. Ben Bonham and Mrs. [Lucy] Rives Bonham. Her father as a steamboat captain on the Red river for many years.

Mrs. Whitworth is survived by one brother, Gray Bonham and her nephew, Mr. Tanner.
