He graduated from Lizton high-school in 1915. He married Jessie Walton in Marion county in April 1920. They were the parents of daughters Kathleen and Crystal.

Funeral Services Conducted for Mother and Son

Double Funeral Services for William and Mrs. Nevada Shockley

Double funeral servuces for William C. Shockley, age 52, who died Friday in his home, 3529 Rockville road, one day after the death of his mother, Mrs. Nevada M. Shockley, age 76, 5112 Crawfordsville road, were conducted, Sunday afternoon in the Christian church at Lizton. The Revs. Lester Pifer of Lizton, Ora McDaniels of Advance, McAdow and Harold Anderson of Indianapolis, were in charge of the services.

Mr. Shockley was buried at North Salem, and Mrs. Shockley was buried at Jamestown.

Mr. Shockley was born in the Lizton community and was employed twenty-three years by the Indianapolis Railways and was on the College Avenue line at the time of his death. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and University Park Christian church.

His mother was born in Alvin, Ill., but lived near Lizton until twenty years ago when she moved to Indianapolis.

Mr. Shockley is survived by the widow, Mrs. Jessie Walton Shockley, two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Ritchie and Miss Crystal Shockley, three brothers, the Rev. James Shockley of Pittsboro, Orville Shockley of Clermont, and Charles Shockley of Lizton.

Military rites were conducted by the firing squad of an Indianapolis Legion Post. Two of the members of the squad were Sam Smith and Noble Storm, formerly of North Salem
