Jesse Walter Bennett was the son of David Bennett Jr. (1814–1893) and his wife, Rosetta Brooks Comstock (1828–1907) both born New York. Jesse Walter Bennett married Susan Tess Davis in 1894, she was the daughter of George W Davis and Susan Jones; they had three children; they moved from Arcadia to Fanning (near Scottsbluff) Nebraska to Newberg, Oregon by 1935. He died in Multnomah, Oregon and was buried in the Custer, Nebraska.
