Bennett, Warren and Carrie (Wolcott)
Warren David Bennett, son of David Bennett and Rosetta Bennett, was born at Pulaski, Oswego county, New York, October 22, 1855.
Mr. Bennett grew to manhood in Pulaski.
On October 20, 1875 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Estelle Wolcott.
They left Pulaski in the fall of 1877 and came to Douglas Grove near Comstock. In the spring of 1878 they homesteaded on a farm in Valley county northwest of Arcadia, where they resided until March 1st, 1906, when they moved to the east part of Arcadia. After moving to town Mr. Bennett followed the carpenter trade and erected many houses.
Mr. Bennett was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
One son William was born at Pulaski before they came west. The eight other children were: Martha Apperson, David, Fred, Roy, Rosetta Johnson, Lloyd, Ralph and Ray.
Carrie E. Wolcott was born at Pulaski, New York October 2, 1857. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
In October 1925 Mr. and Mrs. Bennett celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Mr. Bennett passed away March 25, 1938. Mrs. Bennett passed away April 20, 1944. They are buried in the Lee Park cemetery.

Sworn that he has occupied and cultivated the land without interruption since October 1, 1883.

Warren David Bennett, son of David and Rosetta Bennett of Pulaski, Oswego, Co., New York, was born October 22, 1855 and passed away at his home in Arcadia March 25, 1933, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 3 days. He was married to Carrie Estella Wolcott, October 20, 1875, and to this union nine children were born. Mr. Bennett grew to manhood in the little village of Pulaski. He left Pulaski and came to Douglas Grove near Comstock in the fall of 1877 and in the spring of 1878. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett homesteaded in Valley county, northwest of Arcadia where they resided until March 1, 1906, when they moved to Arcadia where they have since made their home and where he died Friday.
For a number of years he followed the carpenter trade and made several pieces of cabinet work which are highly prized by his family. He was one of the pioneers who knew the hardships of those days and could smile through all the trials. He was highly respected and everybody's friend, who met him. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, who had charge of the services at Lee Park cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Carrie, one daughter, Martha Apperson of Ansley, fives sons, David of Vale, Ore., Fred of Mason City, Nebr., Roy of Caldwell, Ida., Ralph of Grand Island, and Ray at home. There also are 41 grandchildren, two brothers, Truman of Caldwell, Ida., and Jess of Newberg, Ore., and one sister, Susie Cook of Manchester, Ia. Preceding him in death were one daughter and two sons, Rosetta, William and Lloyd. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Congregational church, Rev. Howell officiating.
