MSGT Earl R. "Bob" Booth (US Army, Retired), 79, long time resident of Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2007 from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma . He was born in Vidalia, Ga on August 15, 1928, the son of the late Manning Mobley Booth and Florence Galbreath Booth.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Ruth Hoye Booth; two sons, Christopher R. Bond of Sekiu, WA and Michael W. Booth of Midland, VA; two daughters, Ann Booth Trullender and her husband, Jeff Trullender, of Lake Ridge, VA; and Kathryn Booth Baird and her husband, Phillip Baird, of Morganfield, KY. He was the adored grandfather of Matthew R. and Rachel E. Booth; Cole G. and Kara G. Trullender; and Elijah H. and Margaret A. Baird. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Everette M. Booth and Ernest W. "Gus" Booth. He is survived by his sisters, Ethel B. Bennett, Betty B. Hope and Sara B. Hitchcock; sisters-in-law, Lucy Booth, Faye Booth, Mary H. VanSickle and Kathryn L. Hoye; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was career military and retired as a Master Sergeant after serving 26 years in the United States Army, serving in military intelligence. He proudly served overseas in occupied Germany, Indochina, Korea, Vietnam, and Berlin. MSGT Booth received numerous awards during his career, including the Bronze Star Medal for service, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. He was very active in his community; enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, and helping his beloved neighbors.

Relatives and friends may call Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA on Sunday, August 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM.
