Dell entered service at Camp Wheeler, GA on September 1917 for 9 months, Infantry MG Co. 121 & 167 Machine Gun Co. sent to France 9 months Battles Argon Farest; Champane Front and Chateau Therry. Wounded by fragments from exploding gas canaster and reported dead July 28, 1918. Recovered from wounds, notified family not dead and was discharged March 30, 1919. Worked as Railroad conductor in Albany, GA where he met and later married Lavada Frame. Obit:On Sunday October 25, 1959 beloved husband of Lavada Frame Quillin; father of Edgar Norman and Martha Dell (Mrs. Edwin George); son of the late Jeff K and Belle McRae Quillin; brother of Edgar S Quillin of Chalmette, LA and Mrs Kate Snead, Lucy Wood and Helen Crofoot, all of Clayton, AL; Mrs Mary Martin of Enterprise, AL and five grandchildren. Age 66, a native of Clayton, Alabama, he has resided in Chalmette, LA for the last 12 years. On Sunday, October 25, 1959 beloved husband of Lavada Frame Quillin; father of Edgar Norman and Martha Dell (Mrs. Edwin George); son of the late Jeff K and Belle McRae Quillin; brother of Edgar S Quillin of Chalmette, La and Mrs Kate Snead, Lucy Wood and Helen Crofoot all of Clayton, AL; Mrs Mary Martin of Enterprize, AL and five grandchildren; Age 66 a native of Alabama he has resided in Chalmette, LA for the last 12 years.
Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of Andrew Jakson Lodge No 428 F & A M. John Dibert Post No 351 VFW, Daylight Chapter No 151 OES American Legion, Chalmette Post 360, employee of Lone Star Cement Co. Ingram Oil Refinery and congregation of St. Bernard Methodist church are invited to attend the funeral from the St Bernard Funeral home of Lamana Pannp Fallo, Inc. 7701 St Bernard Hwy, corner of Norton Ave, on Tuesday October 27, 1959. Religious services at St Bernard Methodist Church, Paris Road and D'Amour St. Chalmette, La Masonic Services by Louisiana Relief Lodge No. 1 F&AM of Albany, GA. Interment in Garden of Memories, Jefferson Parish, By order of Louis E Walsdorf, Master Attest; Charles E M'Hale, Secretary
