Isaac W. "Ikey" Pickering

LAUREL — Isaac W. "Ikey" Pickering, age 93, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, Magnolia Gardens assisted living in Ellisville. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memory Chapel. The Revs. Gary Shows and Buckey Erwing will officiate. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery.
He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He was a retired Road Foreman in Beat Two Jones County. He loved to hunt and his hobbies was gardening and taking care of his yard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lila Rae Flynt Pickering in 1996; parents, Isaac and Cora Johnston Pickering; three brothers, J.C. Pickering, Tommie Pickering, Merrill Pickering; and three sisters, Verna Gordon, Kathleen Williamson and Peggy Ruth Pickering.
He is survived by one brother and his wife, Dewitt and Marilyn Pickering of the Hebron Community; three sisters, Pattie Mae Gunn of Acworth Ga., Elsie McQueen of Collins, and Nell Buckley of the Hebron Community; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Pickering and Francis Pickering of the Hebron Community; one special nephew and caregiver, James Thomas Pickering; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Broadfoot, Dane Broadfoot, John Estelle, Scott Shows, David McQueen, and Billie Ray Pickering. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Quick, Robert Russell, Neil Pickering, Bruce Grissom, and Gene Whitney.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. until service time. His family would like to say "Thank You" to Magnolia Gardens assisted living in Ellisville for the excellent attention and care for him while he resided there.
Memory Chapel is in charge of the arrangement.
