Mrs. Mary Ellen Lynch

Estherville – Services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Lynch, 89, Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Estherville, with Father Albert O. Grendler officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Mrs. Lynch passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Aug. 9, 1888 at Estherville to Archie and Margaret (Foley) Evans. Educated in the Estherville schools she was later united in marriage with Wallace H. Lynch. The couple was married May 23, 1917 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Estherville, by Father J.H. Murtagh.

She had lived all of her life in the Estherville area and worked at the Estherville Laundry for a time. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving her are her daughter, Mrs. William (Mary) Snyder, Estherville; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bartleman, Fort Dodge, Mrs. Catherine Tucker, Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Clausing, Emmetsburg, and Mrs. Lucile Reinhardt, Estherville, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1957, daughter, Lauretta in 1977, one granddaughter, one great-grandson and six brothers.

The Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday until 9:30 a.m. Saturday before services.

The Legion of Mary Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, with the parish rosary to be said at 7:30 p.m. that same evening. Both rosary recitations will be at the funeral home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 9, 1973)
