He was survived by 4 sisters, Rose Fiedler of Hardin, Nelle Linstrothe of Collinsville, Illinois, Mae England of Jennings, St. Louis County, Missouri, and Pearl Bishop of Austin, Minnesota; and 3 brothers, Karl "Bud" of Godfrey, Illinois, Oren of Clarksville, Missouri, and Oliver of California.
Visitation was held after 4 p.m. on 07 Feb 1983 at Hanks Funeral Home. A Masonic service took place there at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services were conducted there at 1:30 p.m. the following afternoon. American Legion services took place graveside at Wilson Cemetery.
The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the American Cancer Society.
