He was a son of Abraham and Jane Hutson and was born in Jeffersonville, Kentucky.
In early life he was married to Eva Smith of Arkansas. To this union two sons were born. She died in 1888.
In 1896 he married to Ida Hamilton of Luray, Missouri. To this union twelve children were born. One little girl, Milda preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Hutson, six sons and five daughters, namely, Willie Hutson of St. Paul, Minnesota; Eugene Hutson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Elmer Hutson of Ft. Madison, Iowa; Mittie Campbell of Windsor, Missouri; Lester Hutson of Quincy, Illinois; Mrs. Lawrence Sisson of Luray, Missouri; Leonard Hutson of Gorin, Missouri; Letha Ball of Windsor, Missouri; and Ethel Fern, Thelma, Claude and Sherman at home. Eleven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Anna Demoney of Colorado, two brothers, Ed of Norman, Oklahoma and John of Windsor, Missouri.
Early in life he became a member of the Baptist Church of Williamstown. Later moved his membership to Luray where he still remained a member and was a faithful member throughout his life.
Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church at Luray on Monday, January 30, at 2 p.m., by Rev. C. K. Green of Memphis.
Interment was in the Combs Cemetery near Luray.
