Leonard Hutson, son of Laken and Ida Hamilton Hutson, was born November 15, 1904 and was stricken with a fatal heart attack while working in his office at his home at 801 East Washington Street, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, August 30, 1955, about 7:30 p.m. He had been a resident of Mt. Pleasant for eight years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

He was united in marriage to Lucille Johnson of Rutledge, Missouri. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Herbert Colman of Mt. Pleasant and Cecil and Orville at home. One son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, nine brothers and sisters, Elmer of Oregon, Mrs. Oscar Campbell, Windsor, Missouri, Lester of Quincy, Illinois, Mrs. Lawrence Sisson, Luray, Missouri, Mrs. Henry Bowen, Kahoka, Fern, Burlington, Iowa, Mrs. John Campbell, Calhoun, Missouri, Claud, Macomb, Illinois, and Sherman, Wheaton, Illinois.

Funeral services were conducted from the Crane Funeral Home at one o'clock Friday afternoon.

My father, along with an obituary, stated that Leonard Hutson died of an embolism, not a heart attack. My father stated that the doctor stated, Leonard Hutson had an embolism, hit his head on the workbench as he fell and was dead before he hit the ground.
