Moses Bond Egger was born in Sussey Boyles, SC. He later moved to Lodi, MS were he was a successful property owner and public servant. Around 1880 he followed his son Ellis Egger to Lee County, TX. Later he moved to Hays County, TX were he died after falling from his horse and breaking his leg during a cold February storm. He is buried in Jacobs Well Cemetery which was created as a local cemetery after his untimely death.
