Virgie Lucile Ricketts, 89, died Monday, February 14, 2005, at the Countryside Nursing Centre in South Haven, Michigan. She was born February 5, 1916, in Booneville, Mississippi the daughter of Daniel Luther and Minnie Pearl Barnes Shook.

She was a member of the Church of God in Coloma, Michigan. She and her husband, Rev. Leonard Ricketts working in the Church of God Ministry for 44 years, building churches and dedicating their life's work to the Lord. She enjoyed writing poems, reading, making scrapbooks, sewing, growing flowers, and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include, one daughter, Judy (Wayne) Woolum of Michigan City, Indiana; four sons, Leland (Linda) Ricketts of Bangor, Michigan, James (Ruth Ann) Ricketts of Walhalla, Michigan, Ronald (Teresa) Ricketts of Watervliet, Michigan & Bill (Cathy) Ricketts of Holland, Michigan; four sisters, Grace Counce & Inez Keller both of Booneville, Mississippi, Irene Armstrong of Zion, Illinois, & Bernice Smith of Lexington, Tennessee; a brother, Edward (Esther) Shook of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Leonard Isiah Ricketts; her parents, two brothers, Herbert Shook and Herman Shook.

Services will be at 11 A.M. today at the Prentiss County Funeral Home with Brother Jack Ezell officiating burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery, Booneville, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be; Harold Michaels, Stanley Shook,
Chris Kimbrough, Joe Snyder, Hayden Burns, Hoyle Lambert and Charles Ricketts.
