In 1849, her parents, her siblings, along with her grandparents and a young nephew migrated to Ripley County, Indiana.
Ursula and her sister Matilda, as well as five of their siblings, later went to live in Lawrence County, Illinois. It was there Ursula met her husband George Martin, marrying him in 1876.
Ursula married George Martin in Lawrence County, Illinois on 6 April 1876. Although no children were born to them, they raised Myrtle Miller.
Ursula became ill in 1913 with heart and kidney medical problems. She died in 1916. Her beloved husband George wrote, "She was a good woman and the best to me in the world. I feel very sad and lonesome".
