Funeral for J. P. Lamon, 74, of Route 3 Decatur will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. James Chitwood and the Rev. Joe Joyner officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Lamon died Friday at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. he was born June 13, 1918, in Morgan County and was a member of Westmeade Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Hendrix of Decatur and Paula Smith of Montevallo; one brother, Eugene Lamon of Decatur; two sisters, Gertrude Braswell and Lucille Matthews, both of Decatur; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Matthews, Bobby Matthews, Ronald Matthews, Don McLemore, Wayne Lamon and Joe McDaniel.
