Mr. Rose died at 3 p.m. Saturday in Galveston County Memorial Hospita, in LaMarque. He had been a La Marque resident for the past seven years.
He was born Oct. 10,1898 near Dime Box to Mr. and Mrs. George William (Ida Mae Smith)Rose. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Rose and Rosa Louise McCoy were married Dec. 27, 1922 in Lee County.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Louise Rose on Jan 17, 1975; also a daughter, Dardenella Touchstone in 1981.
Survivors include a son, Dewey H. Rose of Spendora; three daughters, Dorothy Dale Touchstone of Santa Fe, Tx., Carol Sue Fowler of Cottondale, Ala. and Mary Ida Smith of Bryan; three sisters, Naomi Tyler of of Texas City, Leoma Clampett of Dallas and Lina Alford of Rockdale; also, 21 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Mr. Rose was a World Warr I veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dewey married Rosa McCoy on Dec 28, 1922. Together they had the following children: Dorothy Dale, Dardenella, Dewey Jr., Dorabelle, & Carol Sue Rose.
