Life Story of Ruth Armstrong--Ruth Irene Armstrong, 68, of Monroe, died Wednesday, 9th April 1975 in Monroe.

Funeral services were held Saturday, 12 April 1975 at the United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jerry Wolcott conducting the services. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.

Survivors are three sons, Harold of Warrensburg, Mo., Kenneth of Mesquite, Tex., and Bill of Newton; four daughters, Mrs. Shirley Hendricks of Newton, Mrs. Joe (JoAnn) Mathews of Trinity, Texas, Mrs. Al (Ila) Lynch of Paramount, Calif., and Mrs. Gilbert (Jean) Brewer of Kansas City, Missouri; and Mr. G.W. VanHouweling of Monroe; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Opal) Carter of Fremont, Iowa; Mrs. Lee (Carmen) Phillippe of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Mrs. Orville (Wilma) Kaldenberg of Monroe, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Jack and Gerald Armstrong; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother Harley Wood and a sister Mrs. Helen Northcutt.

The daughter of Edmund and Iva O'Connor Wood, she was born July 2, 1906 in Bondurant, Iowa.
