Florence L. Mitchell Bakeis, 77, of 1801 Center St. died at 9:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born April 1, 1923, in Nokomis to Riley Manford and Lenora Luella Stanley Rhodes, she married John H. Hilt in April 1942 in Springfield. She later married Robert V. Mitchell on March 21, 1970, in Hannibal, Mo. He died March 19, 1995, in Peoria. She married Robert Bakeis on Nov. 22, 1998, in East Peoria. He survives.
She also was preceded in death by one grandchild and two brothers.
Also surviving are two sons, John (and Judy) Hilt of Delavan and Gordon (and Patricia) Mitchell of Creve Coeur; three daughters, Alesia (and Rob) Conover of Pekin, Cindy (and Keith) Smith of Lewistown and Susan Rockwell of Greenville, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Henry of Indianapolis.
She worked in receiving at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1983.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
